Deform part of a positive environmental project where wind power towers are recycled
Vindmark AB has completed a project where they combined two old wind power towers into a new higher one with 110 meters in height and 80 meters in wingspan. A 25-meter-long top part from the Netherlands were to be fit in with an existing tower in Sweden.
The top part needed to be cut 8 meters and a new part, functioning as an adapter, was to be welded on. The assignment for this went to us at Deform. With weights of up to 40 tons, great demands were placed on lifting capacity, experience, and know-how. Something we at Deform have when it comes to large, complicated jobs.
The project involved the manufacture of:
- Cone and shell parts
- 80 mm thick bottom flange with bolt circle
- A careful assembly with small tolerances
- A large number of welding meters with high requirements and non-destructive testing
- We have also installed internal equipment and taken care of two-component painting.
The tower was assembled with successful results during July in Kalmar County!
