Technical advanced delivery to SSAB in Oxelösund
The delivery was carried out in 2018 and included two 250 bar high pressure tanks for the furnace blaster at the rolling mill in Oxelösund. One was a high-pressure tank for water with nitrogen buffer and the other tank for pure nitrogen gas. The two tanks are interconnected in a common system.
SSAB provided its own incoming plate material of the highest quality in the thicknesses of 50, 80 and 120 mm to Deform. Deform performed hot forming, quenching and subsequent tempering, plus assembly and welding of complete vessels with diameters corresponding to approximately 1350 mm and with net weights of about 22 tons per vessel.
The challenge was the thickness of the goods in combination with the steel's quenched and tempered properties. Deform and SSAB have a long history together - we are both customer and mutual supplier and are now looking forward to several future joint deals!
