Steel and football

At Deform AB, there is a great commitment to football in both management and among the employees. We are proud sponsors of Degerfors IF playing in the Swedish National League. In addition to elite football, we are also passionate about the youth football.

In the management of the company two people, Johan Ström and Urban Ljungberg, have been involved in starting "Future Team", which is a chance for the players who do not get a place in the first elite round. Therefore, this is an important investment to retain the young people who do not want / are allowed to participate in the elite investment that is made within the Degerfors IF academy.

In “Future Team”, you can continue playing football and aim for the elite later - or simply just play for fun!

One player in the team, Richard Lukooya, attends the Industrial program and currently has workplace-based learning at Deform. Richard thus has one of his trainers as his boss during the working day.

Richard appreciates working at Deform and he has learned a lot about accuracy around measurements and angles. “It is also interesting that you can weld and shape such large and thick plates”, says Richard.

We at Deform think that cooperation with the school is an important piece of the puzzle in developing our society and in finding future labor and we wish Rickard great success in the future - both in our industry and on the football field.
