The world's largest paper pulp digester head was produced in segments at Deform!
The pressure vessel bottom head is 14,5 meters in diameter and more than 55 mm thick. It is cold formed in stainless duplex steel 1.4462. The head is in the bottom of a more than 80 meter high pressure vessel – until now the biggest paper pulp digester ever built.
The ring is built in 22 segments / petals and the crown consists of 10 segments. The weight is over 100 ton, and the total weld length is over 160 meters.
Together with our customer and partner, Terästorni in Finland, we have built this enormous segmental head. The skills needed along the supply chain in a project like this is unique and we are very proud and happy to be a partner with Terästorni in such a demanding project. The fact that we produced the vessel head on a super short lead time puts an extra star when balancing the books!
We like to be challenged and are looking forward to the next challenge from you - our customers. Deform - forming your ideas!
